Los Angeles County is one of the largest local governments in the United States, serving roughly twelve million residents and employing more than 100,000 people. Approximately 27 percent of California residents live in Los Angeles County.

Business Situation

With such a populous county, the Los Angeles County sought out a streamlined system that could handle the day to day schedules of all of the county departments as well as contain the records for cases and requests within its database.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors chose Microsoft Dynamics CRM as the platform for constituent management and four other business applications. InfoStrat configured Dynamics CRM to meet the requirements of county supervisors, and provided training to county information technology staff.

Dynamics CRM allows customizations for each supervisor office, and helps streamline weekly board meetings as a reference for cases and actions that have been taken to respond to requests.

The Results

The constituent management system allows district offices to:

  • Log calls from constituents

  • Launch cases from calls

  • Track progress on case activities

  • Generate responses from Outlook and Word templates

  • Automate business process workflow

The Dynamics CRM system replaces a system that required 22 paper copies of a request along with supporting documentation that was sorted and routed to the appropriate officials. The new system won the Los Angeles County STARS! Award.
